CHASE BRADLEY COMMITS TO NORTHEASTERN

Providence — Northeastern received their second commitment from a 2002 birth year, as Chase Bradley, a forward out of the New Jersey Colonials U14 team, committed to the Huskies this past Monday evening. Bradley is a left shot power forward standing at 5-foot-11, weighing 170 pounds. He hails originally from St. Louis, Missouri. He is slated to arrive in 2020, joining Robby Griffin, Ty Jackson, Dylan Jackson, and Jayden Struble in our projected class for that Fall.
Bradley is the third player from his team to commit to a Division 1 institution. On Tuesday morning, I was able to get some questions answered by his coach, Noel Rubin, about the kind of player that Bradley is and what he brings to the table.
NUHB: What kind of player is Chase right now? How would you describe his game?
Coach Rubin: Chase is a great kid and very coachable. Works hard. Has a big upside. Power forward, good shot and outside speed. Goes to the net hard. A true power forward
NUHB: How do you project his growth in the coming years?
Coach Rubin: Chase needs to get stronger and with his work ethic I know he will continue to develop into a very good D1 hockey player. He is an excellent 200-foot player who can win puck battles in front of the net and find goals and keep pucks alive on the forecheck.
This would not be the first of Rubin’s players to make a great impression for the Huskies coaching staff. Current star forward and Hobey Baker Award candidate Zach Aston-Reese played for Rubin, as did current NU recruit Tyler Madden. A 200-foot power forward who can score, skate, and forecheck sounds like the exact mold of a Jim Madigan forward, and is very much like the role Aston-Reese plays for Northeastern now. If Bradley puts up even half the points Aston-Reese has in his stay at Matthews Arena, this is a big recruiting win for Madigan, Jerry Keefe, and Jason Smith.
In an October 2016 article after the Boston Jr. Eagles U14 Showcase, Jeff Cox of SBN College Hockey said of Bradley: “He had a great shot and knew where to go to have the puck find him for goals. He’s big and was able to creat space for getting shots off. He crashed the net and was an above-average skater.”

Bradley is a raw forward who's really been coming on of late. Plays with some grit and tenacity that makes him versatile up front.
Bradley is eligible for the Ontario Hockey League and the United States Hockey League drafts in 2018, and the National Hockey League Draft in 2020. We have also seen his name in regard to a possible future National Team Development Program invite, so that will bear watching as well.
